israelite calendar
The Israelite calendar is counted based on a lunar-solar matrix Genesis 1:14. Involving both the moon and the sun to count days, months, years and seasons. the moon control the cycle of the month and the sun control the length of days and year. The Original Hebrew calendar had 12 months 1 Kings 4:7 counted by the moon number of moons. which gives 29.5 or 30 days a month. the Original Israelite calendar started and end late march and early April. The first Israelite month starts late March and early April called "ABIB" GENESIS 12:2
Although altered, the Gregorian Calendar is not far from the original Israelite Calendar. The Gregorian Calendar was altered by the Romans under the command of the Roman Catholic church to match the Hebrew Calendar, stealing from the Holy Bible 7 days structure and 12 months a year. The Roman Calendar never had a 7 days and 12 months structure, but rather a 10 months a year and up to 10 days a week structure.

tHE new moon
Picture

The new moon begins when the first light of the moon appear. When we analyze ecclesiasticus 43: 7 in the apocrypha, it tells us that the moon is a sign of feast days, this is why all the major feasts such as passover, tabernacles, usually fall around the time the moon is full, because the moon usually come to its peak around the 14th and the 15th day of the Israelite calendar.

the Sabbath day
The sabbath or Shabbath in the Hebrew Tongue means rest, it occurs every seventh day in a typical calendar which is known today as Saturday in English.
HAS THE SABBATH CHANGED WITH THE GREGORIAN CALENDAR?
Not at all, remember the Gregorian calendar had to be fixed to match the original day of Passover, in other word copying the biblical calendar to match " Ester" celebration. although they change couple of things such as new year, and transfer sabbath to Sunday which were done to differentiate themselves with the original Jews ( Christians). but they do admit they change the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. there is no other evidence in ancient records sabbath was celebrated based on the moon alone or any other days.

THE PASSOVER
“In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.”
The Passover or Pasach in the Hebrew tongue is the biggest celebration of the year, marking our liberty from oppression being made to serve with rigor in Egypt.
In those days The Most High raised up a great prophet in the Name of Moses, through whom He performed unbelievable signs in order to convince Pharaoh to let us go.
Passover is to be commemorated by the slaughtering of a lamb at night as the fourteen day approaches, and no work will be done on that first day, then we are commanded to eat bread made without leaven for seven days.  The first and the last day of Passover are sanctified, no work must be done during those days.
The Passover often comes in early April after the first equinox around which time the new year comes.

Hebrew Luni-solar calendar
14¶ And God said, Let there bee lights in the firmament of the heauen, to diuide the day from the night: and let them be for signes and for seasons, and for dayes and yeeres.
Genesis 1:14
Hebrew 12 month calendar
1 Kings 4:7“¶ And Solomon had twelue officers ouer all Israel, which prouided victuals for the king and his houshold: each man his moneth in a yeere made prouision.”

Abib : the begining of months
Abib
an ear of corn, the month of newly-ripened grain  the first of the Israelite ecclesiastical year, and the seventh of the civil year. It began about the time of the vernal equinox, on 21st March. It was called Nisan, after the Captivity  On the fifteenth day of the month, harvest was begun by gathering a sheaf of barley, which was offered unto the Lord on the sixteenth.
Easton's Bible Dictionary
The sun cycle
365.256 days
Earth orbits the Sun at an average distance of 149.60 million km (92.96 million mi), and one complete orbit takes 365.256 days (1 sidereal year), during which time Earth has traveled 940 million km (584 million mi)
THE MOON CYCLE
The Moon has phases because it orbits Earth, which causes the portion we see illuminated to change. The Moon takes 27.3 days to orbit Earth, but the lunar phase cycle (from new Moon to new Moon) is 29.5 days. The Moon spends the extra 2.2 days "catching up" because Earth travels about 45 million miles around the Sun during the time the Moon completes one orbit around Earth.
THE GREGORIAN CALENDAR
The Gregorian calendar was a reform of the Julian calendar. It was instituted by papal bull Inter gravissimas dated 24 February 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII, after whom the calendar is named.[3] The motivation for the adjustment was to bring the date for the celebration of Easter to the time of year in which it was celebrated when it was introduced by the early Church
EARLY ROMANS CALENDAR
The Romans borrowed parts of their earliest known calendar from the Greeks. The calendar consisted of 10 months in a year of 304 days. The Romans seem to have ignored the remaining 61 days, which fell in the middle of winter. The 10 months were named Martius, Aprilis, Maius, Junius, Quintilis, Sextilis, September, October, November, and December. The last six names were taken from the words for five, six, seven, eight, nine, and ten. Romulus, the legendary first ruler of Rome, is supposed to have introduced this calendar in the 700s B.C.E.

THE TALMUD ON THE NEW MOON

DISCLOSURES.
GYC COMMUNITY DO NOT ADHERE BY ANY BOOK OF THE TALMUD FOR DOCTRINES BUT WE USE IT AS A HISTORICAL TOOLS TO BACK UP THE HOLY BIBLE. ANYTHING THAT IS NOT SUPPORTED IN THE BIBLE WE DO NOT SUPPORT IT.

The talmud can be used as a historical source to learn how our people lived during the Babylonian Captivity. in this case we're using it to show that the new moon was indeed at the first sight of the moon.

EVIDENCE #1

MISHNAH ROSH HASHANAH
PAGE 1: NEW MOON

If a father and son saw the new moon, they must [both] go to the court [that will take their testimony to potentially confirm that sighting and ratify the new month accordingly]; not that they may be combined [together to act as witnesses], but rather that in the event that one of them be declared unfit, the other may join [to give evidence] with another [witness]. Said Rabbi Shimon, "A father and his son, and all relatives, are fit to [join together and] give evidence about the [appearance of the] new moon." Said Rabbi Yose, "It once happened that Toviah the physician, his son, and his freed slave saw the new moon in Jerusalem, [and when they testified before them,] the Kohanim [members of the priestly caste, a subgroup of tribe of Levi, which is uniquely responsible for maintaining and carrying out the sacrificial services in the Temple] accepted him and his son [as witnesses together], but declared his slave unfit; but when they came to [testify before] the court, they accepted him and his slave [as witnesses together], but declared his son unfit."

EVIDENCE #2
At first, bonfires were lighted on the tops of the mountains [to transmit the appearance of the new moon]; but when the Cutheans [the Samaritans] corrupted [the process], it was ordained that messengers should be sent out.
How were these mountain fires lighted? They brought long staves of cedar wood, and shoots, and sticks from oil trees, and the scraps of flax, which were [all] tied on the top of [the staves] with twine; [with these, the court's agent] went to the top of the mountain, and lighted the fire; and waved them to and fro, upward and downward, until he could see his fellow, [and] that [the latter] was doing the same on the top of the next mountain; and so too, [this process was repeated with regards to the next fellow] on the top of the third mountain.
EVIDENCE 3
How were witnesses examined? The pair that came first were examined first. [The judges] would bring in the eldest of them, and say to him: "Say [to us], how did you see the moon; was it [with the crescent turned] towards the sun, or away from the sun? To the north or to the south [of the sun]? What was its elevation and towards which side was it inclining? And how wide was it?" If he said [the crescent was turned] towards the sun, he did not say anything [of value and is dismissed]. Afterwards, they would bring in the second witness and examine him; if their words were found to match, their testimony stood [and was accepted]. And [then] all the other pairs of witnesses would be asked [questions in outline form], not because the [judges] would need them, but only that they not leave with bitter spirits, in order that they be accustomed to come [and testify in the future].

EVIDENCE #1
state of the dead Christ is the mystery of the tomb and the descent into hell. It is the mystery of Holy Saturday, when Christ, lying in the tomb,461 reveals God's great sabbath rest462 after the fulfilment463 of man's salvation, which brings peace to the whole universe.464
Christ in the tomb in his body 625 Christ's stay in the tomb constitutes the real link between his passible state before Easter and his glorious and risen state today. the same person of the "Living One" can say, "I died, and behold I am
alive for evermore":465

EVIDENCE 2

345 The sabbath - the end of the work of the six days. the sacred text says that "on the seventh day God finished his work which he had done", that the "heavens and the earth were finished", and that God "rested" on this day and sanctified and blessed it.213 These inspired words are rich in profitable instruction: 346 In creation God laid a foundation and established laws that remain firm, on which the believer can rely with confidence, for they are the sign and pledge of the unshakeable faithfulness of God's covenant.214 For his part man must remain faithful to this foundation, and respect the laws which the Creator has written into it. 347 Creation was fashioned with a view to the sabbath and therefore for the worship and adoration of God. Worship is inscribed in the order of creation.215 As the rule of St. Benedict says, nothing should take precedence over "the work of God", that is, solemn worship.216 This indicates the right order of human concerns. 348 The sabbath is at the heart of Israel's law. To keep the commandments is to correspond to the wisdom and the will of God as expressed in his work of creation. 349 The eighth day. But for us a new day has dawned: the day of Christ's Resurrection. the seventh day completes the first creation. the eighth day begins the new creation. Thus, the work of creation culminates in the greater work of redemption. the first creation finds its meaning and its summit in the new creation in Christ, the splendour of
which surpasses that of the first creation.217
